Are your kids starting to say “I’m Bored!” Maybe an RC RTF Helicopter (Radio Control-Ready To Fly) will keep them busy for a while.

There are some fantastic radio control electric helicopters, relatively inexpensive, that are very easy to fly, and will keep someone occupied for hours, well, until the battery runs down, but hey, just charge it back up and it’s ready to go agian.

I’m talking about a mini helicopter, about 8″ long and 4″ high. You fly them indoors, the living room, basement or where-ever there’s enough room. Why these are so easy to fly is because they are a “coaxial helicopter” meaning they have 2 counter-rotating blades, which eliminates the balance problems like with other helicopters wanting to tilt side-to-side or dive. To fly, all you need to do is charge the battery, follow any instructions that come with it, it may need a little trimming, slowly throttle up and it will start to lift, practice keeping it at a certain height, once you can do that, try going backward and forward, stopping at hover. When you want to turn right or left, it doesn’t actually turn like you’re going around a corner unless you have forward motion at the same time as turning. Makes sense, but somewhat of a challenge. If you as an adult caught the bug of flying radio control helicopter, you may like to check out a more advanced RTF Electric Helicopter. There are “fixed pitch” helicopters, which may be a little harder to fly than the coaxial helicopter, but a lot of times can be flown outside for more room and more maneuvers. Then if you REALLY get the bug, you can learn to fly a

“variable pitch” helicopter, those, when you get good enough, will do some pretty amazing things, but takes a lot, I mean a lot of practice before even trying to attempt some of those things, because chances are, at some point you probably will crash, so don’t go out and get the real expensive model, or you will be too scared to fly it and won’t be any fun.

I would consult an experienced pilot at that point for instruction and tips on how to begin and take it slow.

Even though these have somewhat limited capabilities, you can hover, up and down, move forward or backward and turn left or right. The helicopter always stays level so you don’t have to worry about it wanting to crash.

I would suggest buying the helicopter and taking it out when the kids aren’t around, fly it yourself a few times, get the hang of it, you’ll have loads of fun doing that, it’ll bring out the kid in you, trust me, I wait until my wife is gone to play with mine. Then you can be confident enough to show someone else how to fly and watch them have loads of fun.

It’s definitely worth checking out, because you may have just as much fun as the kids.

About the Author: I have been flying Radio Control for a number of years and the rush never seems to go away. Each time I try something new or fly something new, it’s no different than the first few times I flew solo.If you want to see what I’m talking about, check out the link below

On Friday, a network of diverse Internet-connected devices targeted the Dyn domain registration service provider. It took down Dyn clients, including several popular websites such as Twitter, Netflix, Spotify, Reddit, New York Times, and Wired.

The attack involved targeting Dyn’s domain name system servers with a large volume of requests, rendering it incapable of serving replies to legitimate requests — a DDoS (distributed denial of service) attack. Users’ browsers and other clients sent requests to Dyn to resolve the respective web sites’ domain names to an IP, but did not get a reply within the time required.

The first attack started at about 7am local time (UTC-4) and was resolved in two hours. A second attack started at mid-day, and a third attack started at about 4pm local time. Tens of millions of malicious request sources were observed, interfering with legitimate Dyn traffic.

The reports noted the malicious devices included internet-connected devices — not only servers and desktops, but also webcams, digital video recorders, routers — referred to as the Internet of Things.

On Friday evening Dyn said a security company Flashpoint and a cloud services provider Akamai identified symptoms of malware Mirai participating in the attacks. The malware infects the devices by brute forcing their passwords. This strategy may work as a consequence of users’ negligence towards password security of stationary devices, which the users do not directly interact with in their everyday life while leaving them exposed to the Internet.

Matthew Prince, the CEO of an Internet infrastructure company Cloudflare said it’s a known issue, “There’s nothing really new about [this type of DDoS attack]. We’ve seen them for at least the last three years, they tend to be difficult to stop”.

Public release of Mirai source code was announced at Hackforums on September 30.

Dyn’s corporate headquarters are in New Hampshire.

There are few organizations in the United States that elicit a stronger emotional response than the American Civil Liberties Union, whose stated goal is “to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States”. Those people include gays, Nazis, women seeking abortion, gun owners, SPAM mailers and drug users. People who are often not popular with various segments of the public. The ACLU’s philosophy is not that it agrees or disagrees with any of these people and the choices that they make, but that they have personal liberties that must not be trampled upon.

In Wikinews reporter David Shankbone’s interview with the President of the ACLU, Nadine Strossen, he wanted to cover some basic ground on the ACLU’s beliefs. Perhaps the area where they are most misunderstood or have their beliefs most misrepresented is their feelings about religion in the public sphere. The ACLU categorically does not want to see religion disappear from schools or in the public forum; but they do not want to see government advocacy of any particular religion. Thus, former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore’s placement of a ten ton monument to the Ten Commandments outside the courthouse is strenuously opposed; but “Lone Ranger of the Manger” Rita Warren’s placement of nativity scenes in public parks is vigorously defended. In the interview, Strossen talks about how certain politicians and televangelists purposefully misstate the law and the ACLU’s work in order to raise funds for their campaigns.

David Shankbone’s discussion with Strossen touches upon many of the ACLU’s hot button issues: religion, Second Amendment rights, drug liberalization, “partial-birth abortion” and whether or not George W. Bush should be impeached. It may surprise the reader that many ideas people have about the most visible of America’s civil libertarian organizations are not factually correct and that the ACLU often works closely with many of the organizations people think despise its existence.

Recently, Finnish open-source video game developer Perttu Ahola discussed Minetest, his “longest ever project”, with Wikinews.

Started in October 2010, Minetest was an attempt by Ahola to create a sandbox game similar to Minecraft. Minecraft is a multi-platform commercial game, which was in alpha version when Ahola challenged himself to create something similar to it from scratch, he told Wikinews.

Minetest is an open-source game, which is free for anyone to download and play. It is written in the C++ programming language, and the source code is available on code-hosting site GitHub. According to Ahola, Minetest attempts to run on older hardware, with limited graphics, but to be accessible to more people: those who have outdated technology, and making it available for no cost. Minecraft, on the other hand, is a paid game, currently costing USD 26.95 for its computer version. Minecraft is currently owned by Microsoft, and performs poorly on older hardware.

A correspondent from French Wikinews contacted Perttu Ahola via Internet Relay Chat a few weeks ago, discussing Minecraft. This interview is built on top of the previous interview, as we take a deeper dive into knowing more about this free game which is about to turn ten years old in a few months.

Why Experts Have Acne Scar Removal Wrong

by

Clarita Milles

If you go and see any doctor, dermatologist, or skin specialist in the hope of removing acne scars you will often be presented with an array of chemical treatments aimed at burning the skin. However, if you speak to someone with a background in natural treatments they will direct you towards a completely contrasting solution. These natural solutions are repeatedly shown to be as effective, if not more so, and carry none of the risks associated with chemical treatments.

For this reason the following seeks to demonstrate and identify the means in which skin specialists achieve the results of removing acne scarring through chemical peels in comparison to natural topical solutions. The best solution is as clear as day.

THE PROCESSES INVOLVED

Chemical peels work as acid is painted onto the skin, which in turn burns the top layer of skin. This burnt layer then eventually peels off the face after a week which allows for the growth of new skin to come to the surface. The theory is that the thickened pigmented epidermis showing cellular disarray (acne scars) is replaced by fresh, orderly, uniform cells. A new band of dermis then forms between the epidermis and the underlying tissue, which enhances the elasticity of the skin.

Natural topical solutions such as natural microdermabrasion creams softly remove the top layer of undesired scar tissue through the use of micro-crystals. This process skims away the top layer of effected skin just like chemical peels, however it is a much more subtle process. The regeneration of new skin cells are then speed-up by natural compounds such as Helix Aspersa Muller GlycoConjugates, which replace scar collagen with a mixture of skin cells and invisible collagen fibers, bringing elasticity and vitality back to the skin.

THE DURATION OF TREATMENT

Chemical Peel treatments are a long and extensive process. Initially the skin must be pre-treated with the application of prescribed creams that both soften and anesthetize the skin. The individual must then undergo a series of acid burning sessions. Finally, the skin must go through a healing process that includes the application of further prescribed creams to provide both recovery and ongoing maintenance to the recently affected area.

The application of natural cream solutions are not as complex. The routine is as simple as applying the creams in the comfort of one’s bathroom after a shower.

THE RISKS ASSOCIATED

All forms of chemical treatment carry a degree of risks, chemical peels are no different. These side effects can vary depending on the patient and generally, the deeper the chemical peel, higher the likelihood of complications arising. These include, but are not limited to:

– The flaring of acne or cold sores – An inflammation of the tissue around the mouth (peri-oral dermatitis) – Peeled skin may also inflame resulting in unsightly scarring – Increased pigmentation such as transient spots of hyper or hypopigmentation – Complete avoidance of direct UV rays – Lengthy recovery and maintenance procedures – All of which may last for months

As one might assume acne treatment cream carries no such danger. As the ingredients comprise of only natural substances they work harmoniously with the body’s skin cells and present no risk of side effects or nasty irritation.

NATURAL ACNE TREATMENT CREAM IS THE ONLY SOLUTION

When determining the best

acne scars treatment

available it is easy to see that natural solutions are easier to apply, safer, and yet produce the same results. In light of this one should look towards a topical solution such as Bioskinexfol for their

treatment for scars

Buffalo, New York —The preliminary hearing for a lawsuit filed against the Elmwood Village Hotel proposal in Buffalo, New York as well as the City of Buffalo has been postponed indefinitely and will take place “as needed” pending the resubmission of the proposal by Savarino Construction also of Buffalo. A request was made to New York State Supreme court Judge Justice Rose Sconiers, the judge to preside over the case, to discuss a “timetable” for resubmission, but the court “decided not to,” said attorney Arthur Giacalone who represents the plaintiffs in the lawsuit.

The hotel would require the demolition of at least five properties, 1109-1121 Elmwood and would cause the closure of several businesses. Already, two businesses, Skunk Tail Glass and Six Nations Native American Gift Shop have relocated, outside the Elmwood Strip. Don apparel, H.O.D. Tattoo and Mondo Video still remain on Elmwood; however, Mondo Video is planning on moving to a new location. The hotel will be 72 rooms and will cost at least 7 million dollars to build. Wyndham Hotels is expected to be the owner/operator of the hotel. The properites are currently owned by Hans Mobius. Two other properties, 605 and 607 Forest might also be part of the proposal. 605 Forest is owned by Pano Georgiadis, owner of Pano’s Restaurant on Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo. 607 Forest is owned by Mobius.

“There’s no new [court] date. The next appearance will be as needed,” said Giacalone.

The proposal was withdrawn by Savarino on July 13, 2006 to undergo “a do-over” and according to the Buffalo News, “shed the lawsuits” against the proposal; however, so far the proposal has “not yet” been resubmitted, but could be in about a “week.”

“With Council being out of session we have a bit of time [before resubmitting]. [We will] Probably resubmit] in a week or so,” said Sam Savarino, CEO of Savarino Construction.

“We welcome some discourse on this project and while we realize that, in all likelihood, we will not make everybody happy, we hope we can develop a consensus that what we provide on that corner will be something that is an enhancement to the neighborhood and the community. Better to have that decided (again?) in a public forum and through the approval process than through a debate over points of law in a courtroom,” added Savarino.

Despite the withdraw of the proposal, Giacalone states that the lawsuit his clients filed is still in effect due to the re-zoning of the properties, which he says are still in place and that he is “frustrated” that his client’s “day in court” has been delayed continuously by Savarino and the city.

Savarino believes that the re-zoning of the properties are “not in effect” because the proposal was withdrawn. He also stated that he is “unsure” on a decision to request the rezoning again because the “city suggested” the rezoning “last time.”

“We have pulled the request [proposal] so I would suppose it [the rezoning] is not in effect. We are as of yet unsure of whether or not to request rezoning of all the parcels. We are communicating with the City on this. You may recall that the City suggested this to us last time. We want to make sure we are doing the correct thing – and the proper thing. I am not sure whether I have a clear indication of that at this juncture,” said Savarino.

Savarino was asked if the proposal was going to be resubmitted or not, but did not answer the question.

Giacalone states that there may be several resons as to why “a new application has not been filed. Is Savarino having a hard time coming to an agreement with Mobius? Has Wyndham Hotels backed out? Is Savarino negotiating with Pano to buy the [605] Forest Avenue property?”

Buffalo’s Common Council is scheduled to meet on September 9, 2006 after Summer recess.

Satellite Information Services Limited (SIS), the racecourse television company part-owned by William Hill (19%) and Ladbrokes (23%), has been named by the BBC as the preferred bidder for its Outside Broadcasts division, one of three active businesses within BBC Resources Ltd. Other SIS shareholders include, Thales (Racal) (23%), United Business Media (19%), Racecourse Association (10%) and the Tote (6% – all figures rounded).

SIS Chief Executive David Holdgate would not comment on the terms of the deal, thought to be between £20m and £50m, but said it would be “an ideal acquisition for SIS” and “a perfect fit with our existing SISLink and sports coverage”. The company has long-term contracts with other leading broadcasters, such as Sky and ITV and provides satellite links for live sport and news.

In a statement, the BBC said that it intended to exchange contracts and transfer the Outside Broadcasts business and around 300 staff in the near future, with Andrew Thornton, BBC project director for the sale of the division, saying that “SIS offered the BBC a good deal and best value for licence fee payers”. Mark Tugwell, Director, BBC Outside Broadcasts, added “it’s time for our business to flourish under new ownership, without the constraints of BBC ownership”.

The transfer would mean that SIS will be covering major sporting events including the Beijing Olympics for the BBC in August 2008.

The division — part of the BBC’s commercial subsidiary, BBC Resources Ltd — owns a fleet of 15 television production units plus sound, support and communications vehicles (making a total fleet of over 90) and is based in self-contained premises in Langley, three miles north-west of Heathrow. These units cover events ranging from music festivals and state occasions, to Wimbledon and World Cup football.

On 7th March 2008 the surprise announcement was made that the studio operation — employing around 350 staff at Television Centre and Elstree — would be “retained by the Corporation as a commercial business” after failing to find a buyer.

The fate of this third business has yet to be announced with the BBC continuing negotiations with the preferred bidder “understood to be a company based in west London“.

Was not included in the privatisation — in early October 2007 it was announced that the business was to close within six months and the entire stock sold as a complete collection. The sale fell through, and on 14th February 2008 the department ceased trading, with a BBC spokeswoman adding that “the arrangements [the corporation] was pursuing have not worked out and BBC Resources is currently inviting interested parties to consider making an offer to purchase.”

BBC Costume and Wigs — which had been trading as part of BBC Studios — was the second largest collection of its kind in the UK, after the leading suppliers Angels The Costumiers.

Ford Motor Company said on Tuesday that its sales in the United States rose 43% in February compared to the same period last year, as the automaker outsold rivals Toyota and General Motors.

The strength of our new products … are resonating with customers

Ford said that total sales improved to 142,285 units, compared to 141,951 units sold by GM. Additionally, Ford said that its share of the total US car market rose to 17%, up from 14% a year ago. The increase was better than analysts had predicted, and Ford’s stock rose to a five-year high in morning trading, before declining later in the day. Ford’s sales were significantly influenced by a 74% increase in fleet sales to businesses. Rental car agencies alone accounted for around 30,000 units sold. Sales to retail consumers increased only 28%.

The increases were led by sales of two sedans, the Fusion and Taurus, which rose 166.5 and 93.3% respectively, although sales of other models such as SUVs and pickup trucks also increased. Both models were significantly redesigned last year, and analysts said that improved quality from such cars were driving the increases.

Other companies also reported February sales today, nearly all reporting sales gains as well, although none as large as those of Ford. Toyota was the sole exception to the sales gains, as their sales declined 8.7%, as the company was faced with a global recall during the month that led to a temporary stoppage of production for some models.

“The strength of our new products … are resonating with customers,” said Ken Czubay, Ford’s vice president of sales and marketing. However, he believed that traditional Toyota customers were not buying rival autos, but rather awaiting the results from the recalls.

When people are looking for extra space or room, they often have to consider moving out of where they live to find somewhere larger. However, not only is this completely disruptive, it can cause all kinds of anxieties to kids who love the schools that they go to etc. One way of getting round this problem is to build a prefabricated house in the yard. The family has more room to grow but without having to shift to somewhere else. Modular home floor plans are many and varied and people need to check these out online. Indeed, modular home plans can also be altered by the manufacturer to fit in with whatever the family needs at that specific time.

Of course, there are many other uses for houses like this and some people will use them as a getaway place to take the kids to at the weekends. Some will place them in an area of great scenic beauty and rent them out when the family is not in residence. This can bring in cash for the family too or they can simple allow family members to use the place as and when necessary. One of the most common uses for these houses is to start up some small business from them. Actually, building a house can be phenomenally expensive and out of the budget of some families. However, since some of these prefabricated houses start in the ten to fourteen thousand dollar range, it is usually within reach of most.

This is also a good way of giving teenage kids some autonomy too but still allows them to live near enough for the family to keep an eye on them. If they are given their own space, perhaps with their own budget to sort out, this is great grounding for when they go off to college or leave the nest. Indeed, this could just be used as a pool or guest house in the yard or to rent out to someone to help it pay for itself. The choice is virtually endless, as is the design and size of the place so it is up to the individual exactly what they want to achieve with it.

These are available online these days and some super stores also have them on their mail order service. Once chooses the design and waits for some days and the whole thing arrives on the back of a truck in flat pack form. Very much like flat pack furniture, the plan comes with the building and most people can put this up in just a couple of days.

Materials used in the makeup of these houses are modern and very easy to keep clean. It is usually bug proof too which is important if termites are a problem in the area. This is also what makes the buildings ideal for kids to play in too since a quick wipe down will see the place look like new again before too long. Just check them out online to see which design will fit.

About the Author: Stewart Wrighter has noticed that having modular home floor plans prior to building is an excellent idea.He and his wife were presented with several modular home plans to select for their new home.
